Borgo Gini · Baschi, Umbria
intenso (intense)
The first oil from Borgo Gini. A blend of the cultivars typical of the Orvieto Hills, from our grove on the hills between Orvieto and Todi.
The story
Nicola and Giovanni are two brothers,
lively to say the least.
Nicogio was born for them
and is the most precious fruit of our project.
We wanted to produce a genuine oil for our children,
to nourish them with the experience of making,
to discover the magic of the harvest.
Every year we try to improve,
taking what nature gives us, without shortcuts.
We produce oil in the healthiest and most respectful way possible.
Production sheet
Moraiolo, Frantoio and Leccino, from our organic grove on the Poggi di Baschi, about 250 metres above sea level.
Mechanical, at the start of veraison, usually in the first half of October. The olives go straight to the mill in crates and are processed within 8 hours of picking.
In our own mill, with daily cold pressing in a continuous cycle, which keeps the oil’s organoleptic qualities intact over time.
Organic, with no chemical fertilisers or synthetic pesticides. Control body authorised by MASAF: IT-BIO-006.
Medium strong, tending to spicy.
Golden yellow with green nuances. Fruity, with intense notes of artichoke, fresh grass, green olive and walnut.
Raw: especially recommended on salads, cooked vegetables, legumes, soups and grilled meats.
