Borgo Gini · Baschi, Umbria
gentile (delicate)
The second oil from Borgo Gini. It comes from the same olive trees as Nicogio, on the hills between Orvieto and Todi, with a softer character.
The story
In Sicily, sweethearts are called ziti.
The zita is the promised girl,
the one you wait for and choose.
Our first oil carries the names of our sons,
Nicola and Giovanni: Nicogio.
This one is dedicated to the woman who brought them into the world.
The zita of those days, now a mother.
She left Sicily many years ago
and found her home among these hills.
Some words do not change with distance.
To us, she is still zita.
The rest we keep to ourselves.
A gentle oil, like the things of family.

Light fruity, soft and well balanced, with just a hint of bitterness and pungency.
Golden yellow with green highlights. On the nose, fresh grass, apple and almond.
Our everyday oil: raw or in light cooking, on pasta, legumes, vegetables and soups. And on bread, for the children’s afternoon snack.
